Sandaig at the entarance to Loch Hourn in the sound of Sleat has a delightful beach to explore.

This is where Gavin Maxwell had a cottage and based this "Ring of Bright Water" story. His cottage was destroyed on Mxwell's orders after his death - there is still a commemorative stone there to visit.
