ALL cruises (unless otherwise stated) start and finish in Oban which is easy to reach by road, rail or coach. Travelling to Oban, on the west coast of Scotland, is a joy. Around three hours by car, coach or train from Glasgow or Edinburgh, less than 2 hours from Stirling, the scenic journey is a memorable part of a visit to this bustling sea side town.

By Car

Oban is easily reached from Central Scotland by taking the A82 which skirts the west side of Loch Lomond. Then either via Tyndrum or follow the A83 over the 'Rest and be Thankful' through Inveraray. Both journeys take between 2 and 3 hours, although you may be tempted to stop several times to admire the scenery.

There is a limited amount of long stay free parking in Oban but to be sure of security you can book your car into the "Park and Cruise" service tel  +44 (0)1631 566476 while away you can give your car a treat by ordering the full valet service.

By Air

Flying to Glasgow or Edinburgh is easy. Both airports are served by all the major, and many of the minor, UK airlines. This provides plenty of flights to choose from with many bargain rates for flights from the different London airports on offer. In addition to being busy domestic airports both Glasgow and Edinburgh receive daily scheduled flights from Europe. They both also boast direct flights to and from the United States.

If you fly to Glasgow you might be able to optimise the trip by getting a taxi from the Airport to nearby Dumbarton to join the Oban Train. Check the timetable for connections.

By Rail

The rail journey takes you along the world-famous West Highland Line. ScotRail runs trains from Glasgow Queen Street Station to Oban, three or four times per day.
